The Finnish Defence Forces – a sought-after employer

As an employer, the Finnish Defence Forces has received top marks in surveys aimed at both students and professionals.

In last year’s student survey of Finland’s most attractive employers in 2023, the Finnish Defence Forces was the 7th most popular choice for IT graduates and the 8th most popular choice for engineering graduates.

It also increased its attractiveness for students of business, engineering, IT, natural sciences and the humanities. The Defence Forces was one of the strongest risers in the field of engineering in particular.

#1 in the public sector

In the survey of Finland’s most attractive employers in 2023 for professionals, the Finnish Defence Forces ranked 8th in IT and 3rd in engineering. In both fields, the Defence Forces was the top choice in the public sector.

The Defence Forces improved its ranking among business, health and natural sciences professionals. It saw its biggest increase in the business sector (from 26th to 16th), and the Defence Forces as a whole was the only employer in the top 10 in four different categories.
