Positions for physicians in the Defence Forces

The Defence Forces has open positions for both civilian and military physicians. Our physicians work mainly at garrison healthcare centres. They also work as specialists, in administrative and various planning duties.

Vacancies for civilian and military physicians

Civilian physicians are not required to have undergone military service or voluntary military service for women. Military physicians, on the other hand, are required to have received non-commissioned officer or reserve officer training. They serve in officer specialist posts and also participate in exercise activities.

Physicians have versatile duties and working environments, including

• garrison healthcare centres
• field medicine
• research in the field of military medicine
• international activities

In addition, for example, dentists, veterinarians, nurses, occupational health nurses, physiotherapists, dental hygienists, facility cleaners and laboratory personnel work in the Defence Forces’ healthcare services.

Opportunities for developing your competence

The Defence Forces has a good working atmosphere and we promote a strong working community.
