Officer specialists are highly educated professionals
The Defence Forces employs approximately 800 officer specialists. They hold military offices and are Masters or Bachelors of Science in Technology, doctors, military chaplains or conductors by training.
Expertise and leadership
As an officer specialist, you bring your expertise to the military environment of the Finnish Defence Forces. You work in challenging expert and supervisory positions and participate in military exercises and continuing training. You will have the opportunity to increase your competence and find new and more challenging duties within the Finnish Defence Forces.
What is required of an officer specialist?
- A university degree
- Reserve officer or non-commissioned officer training
- Good physical condition (running test)
- Finnish citizenship
- General eligibility for public service
